Doomsday is the kind of movie that takes you by surprise. It appeared in theaters out of nowhere and the plot of the movie itself throws you off balance here and there.
It starts with the generic virus taking over the generic capital city and zooms into the potential Armageddon and complete destruction of the human race UNLESS an antidote is found in one of the previously affected cities with remaining survivors. Captain Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra) and a small group of elite personnel are assigned to find survivors and with them, the cure to the virus.

What's interesting about Doomsday is that it has a fresh approach to the whole apocalyptic virus genre. It clashes Medieval settings with destroyed post-apocalyptic scenarios. I personally loved the concept of having a modern soldier fighting a Medieval Knight, while keeping the plot as realistic as possible.
Even though the movie has a couple of twists here and there, it flows nicely which should guarantee a fun and enjoyable ride.
